Your responsibilities
- Laws differ by location. Some places require all parties to consent to recording; others require only one. Requirements can depend on where each participant is located.
- Obtain any required notice or consent before you capture a conversation.
- Follow your organization’s and your customers’ policies, including any restrictions on recording or on processing certain information.
- Inform participants where appropriate. Tell people when a conversation is being captured if notice is expected or required.
- Stop when uncertain. If consent or authority is unclear, do not capture the conversation.
What browser-caption capture means
HiVayne Recorder can capture the caption text available in your browser during a supported meeting. No separate meeting bot joins the call. Even so, capturing captions may still constitute collection or recording under applicable law. Treat browser-caption capture the same as any other recording for the purpose of notice and consent.
Sensitive conversations
Do not capture confidential, privileged, regulated, or otherwise sensitive conversations unless you have the authority to do so. This includes, for example, legally privileged discussions and conversations involving regulated categories of information.
What HiVayne does and does not do
- HiVayne does not determine whether recording is lawful for a particular meeting.
- HiVayne prepares intelligence for your review and does not send messages on your behalf without your approval.
- You control what you capture, upload, and connect, and you can disconnect sources and request deletion.
